Service Description

Why do most of us non-native speakers give up on reducing our accent? We have no idea where to even start. In school, we were never taught a thing about sound mechanics or concepts like linking or stress. All we know is: - people keep asking us "where are you from?" - people keep asking us to repeat ourselves - we come across as unsure because we're self-conscious about how we speak - we are treated as less than or are overlooked for promotions because of our accent Is that fair? Hell no. Can we do something about it? Hell yes. But how? Addressing any issue starts with awareness. In your accent assessment, you'll be reading a text out loud for me so I can hear first hand what sounds and overall concepts you're not doing correctly for a neutral American accent. Who is this for? Non-native speakers who: - want to finally blend in with Americans after having lived in America for a long time (get to native speaker level) - are/want to be high performing professionals who must communicate clearly and confidently with employees, customers and business partners - understand that unclear pronunciation will cost you social and economic opportunities Who is this not for? - non-native speakers that struggle with basic grammar and vocabulary (you need a solid foundation in English before focusing on your accent) - people looking for an overnight fix (mastering any skill doesn't happen overnight, regardless of what people on the internet promise you) - casual learners who just want to "sound cool" - anyone unwilling to change speaking habits - anyone unwilling to dedicate themselves to daily practice to solidify what they learned in class - students who just want test prep (e.g. TOEFL, IELTS) -- This is training for real-world communication, not standardized test strategies
