You can change it
Many people believe they are stuck with their accent. This is false. Just like actors can change their accents, you can too, using the same system. All it takes is consistency and patience.
How?
At acting school, I went through rigorous vocal and diction training which I used to reduce my own accent. Now, I use it to help others like me do the same. I work 1-on-1 with students from all over the world via Zoom to help them sound more clear, more confident, and more American.
I also made a video course called American Accent Fundamentals (5hrs of content, 10 modules, 86 video lessons) all about the cornerstones of the American Accent.
Why?
Most of my students struggle with communicating clearly and confidently, despite having lived in the US for a long time. They want to sound more American so they can blend in with their peers and overcome unconscious bias against them based on their accents. Many also want to speak English to the very best of their ability.
Learning Process
Together, we're going to identify the sounds (consonants and vowels) that make your speech unclear and stand out as non-native. This will create our roadmap for what sounds to work on. While we learn proper sound mechanics and build new & correct habits, we'll learn overarching concepts like rhythm, linking, and intonation.
